Six days in Kashmir from ₹14,500 per person: Srinagar's gardens, day trips to Sonmarg and Gulmarg, a night in Pahalgam and one on a Dal Lake houseboat.
We meet you at Srinagar airport and take you to your hotel. After check-in you head out to the Mughal gardens, Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi, and then up to Pari Mahal, which looks straight down over Dal Lake. Overnight in Srinagar.
After breakfast you drive to Sonmarg, about two and a half to three hours along the Sindh river. The day is yours to spend in the meadows and by the river, and a pony ride or local sightseeing can be arranged there at your own cost. Back to Srinagar in the evening for the night.
Gulmarg is about two hours from Srinagar. You can spend the day walking the meadow, or ride the Gondola cable car if tickets are available; they are paid separately and often sell out in season, so decide early if you want to go up. Back to Srinagar by evening for the night.
Check out after breakfast and drive to Pahalgam, about three hours plus stops. On the way you stop at the saffron fields in Pampore and the old temple ruins at Awantipora. The saffron flowers only come out in late October, so in September you will see the fields and the saffron shops rather than the bloom. Check in at Pahalgam for the night.
After breakfast you drive back to Srinagar and check in to a deluxe houseboat on Dal Lake. The evening is free. Sit out on the front deck and watch the shikaras go by, which is most of what a houseboat evening is about. Overnight on the houseboat.
Breakfast on the houseboat, then we drop you at Srinagar airport for your flight home.
